Community Helpers

Hello all,

Remember Tomorrow (Sunday, Oct. 21) is the Becker Family Fun Day from 10 am to 11:30 am
It is held in Colonial Park in West University Place (4130 Byron - I think).

It is always lots of fun, and the weather looks to be extremely pleasant!  Elena hopes to see everyone there (Cathy will be there in spirit - though will actually with her Kindergarten class at exactly the same time!)

Next week will be our week to learn about Community Helpers.  We hope to have a real FireFighter visit on Wednesday at 11:00 - possibly bringing a firetruck with him (but that will depend on if the firetruck is not on its way to fight a fire!)

We had fun exploring colors this week -- mixing different colors in our art time every day -- and we plan on more color-mixing throughout the school year.  Everyone looked fabulous on Wednesday, our picture day.  I was thrilled that all twelve little ones smiled for the cameras when it was their turn!  (as you recall, it was a rocky start-of-the-morning for a few of our classmates .... so we weren't sure that everyone would be willing to pose for a great school photo, but they did!

We also asked the children what their favorite color is and have posted this outside our classroom door.  Purple, red, orange were tops for many, while pink and blue also made the favorites list.
