Peek - Shabbat!

Where does the time fly to?  Before more of it gets past me, let me send the next Peek.

We will be learning all about how we celebrate Shabbat this week -- a wonderful way to end our fall series of Jewish holidays!
Remember that Monday is one more holiday -- Simchat Torah - so Becker is closed.  On Wednesday, we will begin learning more about Shabbat -- the big three:  candles, wine/grape juice and challah.  If you have any spare candles (any size or shape will do) that you don't mind getting toddlerized and broken, we'd love to have them to put in our sensory table.  Our children see us light candles every Friday, but when do they get to explore what a candle actually feels like?  They are often told to be careful, because of the flame, but this week they will get to touch them, hold them (break them?) and more (without any flames).  I have a few candles, but you know the saying "the more, the merrier" - that must be true when exploring items in our sensory table.  Send candles (should you have some to spare) on either Wednesday or Friday.

Also, the Sink-or-Float items were a huge hit a week or more ago.  We will have them in a plastic jar near the sign-in clipboard if you would like to reclaim yours.
Many thanks for sharing these with us (imagine my surprise that you sent so many float-y items - all mine sink - but then I'm no longer bathing kids in bathtubs either!).

Hug your little ones for both Elena and myself,
truly,   Ms. Cathy
