Spring next week!

First a quick recap -- we have had fun being cowgirls and cowboys this past week.  My highlight was seeing the children painting their cowboy boots with the golf-ball-rolling-technique.  Or possibly the 'branding of their bandannas' project -- we used potato mashers for the 'branding iron'.  Both of these are now posted for all to see on our hallway bulletin board.  The children enjoyed galloping (often! - we tried to keep it limited to the outside play time) and ringing the musical triangle to 'call all the cowboys in for chow' (or students to line up or otherwise -- since I didn't have a cowbell, we substituted the triangle.)

This coming week we will begin learning about Spring (mostly the change in the weather and gardening).   Please see the attached Peek.

Note:  We are anticipating the arrival of our NAEYC inspectors this coming week.  Thank-you for remembering all our procedures: especially signing in and out, and washing hands on arrival.

Second note:  We are having fun with a third pair of hands (and eyes) on Wednesday mornings.  We have a U of H student visiting (and being mentored by Cathy).  Be sure to smile and say hello to Ms. Xiang, if you see her.  I believe she is with us for 3 more Wednesdays.

Last note:  Can you believe it is almost Spring Break?  We will see you Monday and Wednesday this week, then not again until Monday, March 18th.  We hope everyone has special plans for the week!

truly,  Cathy & Elena
