Just a quick reminder of several announcements ....
Mon. Jan. 21 : Sleep in late on Monday or plan some playdates with classmates or just enjoy a lazy day with your preschoolers nearby as Becker is CLOSED in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Wed. Jan. 23: It's the annual "Dads bring Becker kids to School Morning!" We invite all Dads/Fathers of children in our class to join us for a light breakfast and fun time in our classroom. Grandpas, Uncles, good friends (or even Moms!) can come in Dad's place. Please come anytime between 8:30 and 9:30. Stay the full hour or however long works best with your schedule. I know some of our Dads also have children in classes upstairs, feel free to split the hour however works best for you and your children (feel free to email me with questions or otherwise). We will have a nice "Good-bye" before sending everyone on their way by 9:30-ish.
Fri. Jan 25: NOON DISMISSAL for Everyone at Becker! No need to send a lunch that day as you will be picking your children up before Lunch. Please be prompt (early also works) as there is Teacher Inservice that Elena and I must attend.
Mon. Jan. 28: Priority Registration begins for Fall 2013. Please note that the Three-year-old classes fill fast. Ponder and decide now which you prefer: 3-day or 5-day class for your child. Also please know that Summer Camp Registration for Becker will take place in March, after the Fall registration is complete.
Wed. Jan. 30: Deadline for Scholastic Book Orders. New catalogs went home yesterday, and many more are available online at www.scholastic.com My class code is HKKQZ or you might find me by searching Ms. Cathy Winter at Becker Early Childhood Center. Online orders are easiest to process, but you may also turn in paper orders with a check or cash. Please add carefully!
Elena is still putting some finishing touches onto our Peek for next week, but it should be coming soon. We will be learning about Fathers and Trees (as Saturday, January 26 is Tu B'Shevat, the annual Jewish celebration of the New Year for the Trees (the birthday for our lovely tall friends!)
I hope the tummy virus that has been circulating through our class has finished it's course. We do want to thank-you for keeping your children home from school when they are ill as it helps keep the spreading curtailed. We are teaching them to wash their hands with soap and water as well as to cough into their elbows (not their hands!), but germs still spread.....
Enjoy this long week-end of gorgeously crisp weather! Hug your little ones for both Elena and myself -- and hug all your family too! So many of you either have family visiting this week-end or are off visiting family -- treasure these fun times!
truly, Cathy
